Surgical Drapes and Packs

Most of the hospitals are using alkaline chemicals and detergents for washing surgical sheets, due to this the surgical sheets have higher than 7pH and foaming property harmful to human body. Higher pH sheets in contact aggravate wounds and the foaming property leads to bubbles in the blood circulation, very dangerous to human body.Single use Careon surgical drapes and packs are most hygienic and safe.

Careon Medical Vision and Mission

Our Vision

Careon is committed to control Hospital acquired infections (HAI) and minimize the usage of antibiotics.
We support hospitals by conducting training programs to control (HAI) in Theatre, Labor Room, ICU’s and Wards.

Present Scenario
In India all the Hospitals have improved their Facilities.

But Hospital Acquired Infection (HAI) rate is not coming down.

In USA, Infection Control Society of America( ICSA) found that:-

First Major Killer in USA is Cancer

The second is different types of Strokes

And the third major killer is Hospital Acquired Infection (HAI)

MAJOR REASON FOR HAI

Reuse of Medical Devices - instruments, linen, gauze, etc.

Unrestricted movement of staff and visitors.

Not using sterile disposables. Not using medical grade bacteria barrier, breathable fabrics.
Lack of proper training.

  • Hospitals in India have a high burden of infections in their ICUs and wards, many of which are resistant to antibiotic treatment, according to the Global Antibiotic Resistance Partnership (GARP)-India Working Group and the Center for Disease Dynamics, Economics & Policy (CDDEP). The 2011 GARP report, Situation Analysis: Antibiotic Use and Resistance in India also states that a large proportion of these hospital acquired infections (HAI) are preventable with increased infection control measures.
  • In Indian ICUs, the rate of vancomycin-resistant enterococcus (VRE), a dangerous hospital infection, is five times the rate in the rest of the world. Rates of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus in Indian ICUs are also high, with one study finding over 80 per cent of S aureus samples testing positive for resistance to methicillin and closely related antibiotics.
  • GARP research estimates that of the approximately 190,000 neonatal deaths in India each year due to sepsis - a bacterial infection that overwhelms the bloodstream -, over 30 per cent are attributable to antibiotic resistance. Antibiotic resistant hospital infections can be especially deadly because antibiotics are used intensely in hospitals compared with the community, and frequent use drives the development of highly resistant bacteria.
  • A prospective study of 71 burn patients at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh found that up to 59 patients (83 per cent) had hospital-acquired infections: 35 per cent of pathogens isolated from wounds and blood were S. aureus, 24 per cent were P aeruginosa, and 16 per cent were ß-haemolytic streptococci.
www.careonmedical.com
  • Another six-month study conducted in 2001 of the intensive care units (ICUs) at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), found that 140 of 1,253 patients (11 percent) had 152 hospital-acquired infections, where P aeruginosa made up 21 per cent of isolates, 23 per cent were S aureus, 16 per cent Klebsiella spp., 15 per cent Acinetobacter baumannii and eight per cent Escherichia coli. Further, a study of 493 patients in a tertiary teaching hospital in Goa also found that 103 people (21 percent) developed 169 infections.
  • "A large proportion of these hospital infections are easily preventable with increased hospital infection control, including stepping up hygiene practices, such as frequent hand-washing," says Dr Ramanan Laxminarayan, Director of CDDEP and Vice President for Research and Policy at the Public Health Foundation of India.
  • In response to the growing burden of HAIs in India, the Global Antibiotic Resistance Partnership (GARP) is issuing several key recommendations that aim at reducing the prevalence of HAIs, including increased hand-washing, use of isolation rooms for infected patients, increased availability and uptake of diagnostic tests, reminders to limit catheter use, and use of gloves and gowns. The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare Task Force also recommends that all hospitals create an infection control plan, committee and team.
  • "Surveillance of antibiotic resistance, combined with tracking physician prescribing patterns, can be the foundation of successful infection control programs in hospitals. But surveillance is a challenge in many places, where microbiology laboratories and trained staff may be unavailable," says Dr Laxminarayan. Infection control committees may also be met with uncooperative hospital staff and administrators. "The greatest challenge is to empower infection control committees and make hospital staff aware of their activities and recommendations," Dr Laxminarayan adds.

The Benefits of Applying Masks to Your Face.

Here are a few recipes for common skin types:

Mask for Dry Skin :

(Fat from the Avocado is very hydrating, as well as natural honey)
½ avocado
¼ cup honey
Mix these ingredients together and apply to the face for about 20 minutes, and rinse off with a warm cloth.

Mask for Oily Skin :

(Lemon and Strawberries both work as astringents, helping to remove extra oil from the skin.)
1 tsp lemon juice
2 egg whites
2 tsp honey
1 cup strawberries
Mix these ingredients and leave on for about 10 minutes, and then rinse off with a warm cloth

Mask for Aging Skin :

(Since sugar is used to gently exfoliate, it works best with maturing skin, as well as softening the lines caused by aging.)
3 tbsp sugar
4 tbsp warm water
Dissolve the sugar in the warm water, and do not use until done. Sugar can be harsh for thinning skin, so make sure it is completely mixed in with the water. Apply the water to the face and massage to increase circulation for about 5 minutes. When you are done, rinse the face and pat dry.

Drinking Hot Water helps to shred excess fat

Hot Water Uses
It doesn't take a lot of effort to gain the benefits of drinking hot water. To get the benefits of detoxification, you can drink hot water as little as 1-2 times a week. Of course, you can do it more often if you choose. The temperature of the water shouldn't be so hot that it burns you, when you drink it. However, it has to be hot enough to cause you to sweat after drinking it. In fact, for maximum benefit, you should find yourself sweating profusely while drinking it. Once you stop sweating, be sure to wipe away your perspiration and then drink another glass of hot water. This will help to balance out your body temperature.
Drinking hot water also helps to cleanse the nasal cavities. This is especially useful when you are congested during an illness. The vapor from the hot water loosens up all the mucus buildup. This, in turn, will help you be less congested. The detoxification process is also more beneficial when you are sick. The hot water will make you sweat and remove some of the toxins in your body, and hopefully will allow you to have a quicker recovery.
When you drink a glass or two of hot water, your body temperature will increase a little. Just like when you drink cold water, and your body had to regulate temperature by heating up, the hot water will cause your body to want to cool down. The way our bodies cool down is by sweating. When we sweat from drinking hot water, we are helping to purify our bloodstreams. We literally sweat out the toxins which have built up in our body.
Some evidence suggests that by drinking hot water, we remove built up deposits in our nervous system. These deposits are responsible for creating negative thoughts and emotions. By removing these build ups, we can help to purify our thoughts and put us in a better emotional state. Drinking hot water can also actually purify the toxins out of your body.

Most People Are Not Meeting Physical Activity Guidelines

  • It has been recorded that 80% of Americans are not meeting the physical recommendations made by the federal government, according to a new report from the CDC published in the journal Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report.
  • The government's Physical Activity Guidelines suggests 2.5 hours of walking or 1.25 hours of jogging per week. In addition, strength activities like push-ups are sit-ups are recommended on two or more days per week.
Careon makes Medical Disposables Equipments as per clients requirements.
  • The CDC, culling info from 450,000 respondents to their Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, found that only 21% of adults 18 and older met both the aerobic and strength conditioning recommendations. There were 52% that met the aerobic guideline only, while 29% say they are meeting the strength-conditioning guideline.
  • "This is a great start, and we can use this information to encourage other adults to increase their aerobic and muscle-strengthening activity," says Carmen Harris, an epidemiologist in CDC's physical activity and health branch. "Improving access to safe and convenient places, such as parks, walking trails and sidewalks, can increase opportunities for physical activity in communities."

FDA Bans Generic OxyContin

  • The U.S. Food and Drug Administration have announced that it would not approve generic versions of the powerful narcotic OxyContin.
  • The decision marks the first time the agency has allowed a manufacturer to state that a narcotic drug has tamper-resistant properties, said an agency official, Dr. Douglas C. Throckmorton.
  • "The data show that, when compared to original OxyContin, reformulated OxyContin has an increased ability to resist crushing, breaking, and dissolution using a variety of tools and solvents," FDA said in the notice posted in the Federal Register.

  • Throckmorton added that the FDA had looked at data from several studies, some of it underwritten by Purdue Pharma, in arriving at its decision, and that while the data was not perfect, the agency had concluded that it was enough to show that the new version of OxyContin was safer, in its abuse resistance, than the original version.

Prenatal Use Of Common Epilepsy Drug Tied To Higher Autism Risk

  • Women who take the epilepsy drug valproate (Depacon) during pregnancy may increase the risk of childhood autism in their children, a population-based study showed.
  • In utero exposure to the drug was associated with elevated risks of both autism and autism spectrum disorder, Jakob Christensen, PhD, of Denmark's Aarhus University Hospital, and colleagues found. The study showed that the risks were 2.5% and 4.4%, respectively, and remained significantly elevated after adjustment for parents' epilepsy and psychiatric disease, the group reported in the April 24 issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association.
  • The study included 655,615 children born in Denmark from 1996 through 2006.
  • The American Academy of Neurology recommends avoiding valproate in pregnancy whenever possible due to cognitive and physical birth defect problems for children exposed in utero.

Simplified Automated Ventilator (SAVe)

  • This slimmed-down, straightforward ventilator is smaller and lighter than a standard automated model, weighing just 3.1 pounds (compared to 13 to 14 pounds). It's operated with a single knob, which turns the SAVe on, and allows you to mutes the low-battery alert, turn off the LED lights, or shut both functions off (presumably for stealth operations). The device runs for 3.5 to 6 hours per charge, or it can be plugged in.

  • The point of this thing is to free up a medic's hands in "far-forward theatre" situations. That's jargon for the frontlines, essentially, where combat medics would never be able to haul around a massive, complex auto-ventilator. The current solution is to use an Ambu-bag, a big plastic bulb connected to a breathing mask, which the medic or patient manually pumps. It's a relatively imprecise tool, especially when bullets are cracking overhead, and suddenly you're squeezing irregularly or simply way too fast. SAVe provides even, measured breaths through a mask, ET tube or other patient connection. SAVe's makers aren't sure whether it will be stored in far-forward vehicles or in a medic's kit, or a combination of both, but here's the good news: It's ready right now.
Careon Medical Disposables

  • SAVe is in the final stages of FDA approval for military use. Once its cleared, production will begin immediately, and its makers will move on to a larger, more complex version, designed for both military and civilian use. A prototype for that model should be ready in September, with a run at FDA approval happening next year. The point of the follow-up model is to allow for more ventilation options, such as adjusting pressures, volume and rate. It will have preset modes that first responders can use, such as Small, Medium and Large (for the patient's size), and a manual mode to let skilled personnel fine-tune its operation.
